why did starbucks not just go with a licensing approach internationally? Is the preference for joint ventures in strategic target markets coupled with licensing unique?
Satrbucks didnot jut go with a licensing approach internationally instead it prefered joint ventures with the retailing local companies in the continents outside north America strategically. This is because the local companiesare well aware of the preferences and tastes of the localites above that the operational and business development strategies are well known to the participants from the host country. This also served as an easy way to enter the foreihgn market not by harming or competing with the domestic suppliers instead became an ally of the domestic retaliers and collated with them to expand business.
