The organization structure along departments or divisions is known as divisional structure. This occurs mainly along a product line, hence different divisions formed to manage each of them. Thus, as is suggested this is common form for.a multi-service organizations. In today's time, most companies prefer to specialize in different fields on their own. In this sense, most companies has own market analysts, chartered accountants, developers, ITs and for conglomerates, different product lines run under same company. So, yes it is true that most companies have divisional structures.
