What is the original intent of Karl Marx’s description
of a pure Socialist structure? Why is
this, as Marx intended, not possible to achieve. Explain.
Milton Friedman is considered a very conservative economist,
believing in minimized
government influence. He also believes that Pure Capitalism is not
possible in its basic
form. Do you agree? Explain. What does Friedman argue are some of
the basic
necessities, in its limited role, of a government and why does he
argue they can only be
acquired by a government?
ans 1=According to Marx a socialist state will have the laborers own the means of production & everyone will share the profits equivalently. The laborers would be functioning for themselves, & not for the capitalist’s gain. All forms of governmental intervention would gradually disappear, the state would wither away, as the laborers understand the benefit of working for the welfare of one another. When this model situation prevails, an ideal society which he termed ‘communism’ would come into being.
Critics have stated that if the state were to disappear then there will be no machinery to settle conflicts arising between the citizens & the state authorities and also conflicts among the individuals. Hence, communism isn’t possible to achieve
