1 and 1/2 = 1.5

5 and 1/4 = 5.25

Total cashews nuts in the box = Sales on sunday + Sales on monday + Sales on tuesday

                                                = (0.5 + 1.5) + (0.5 + 1.5) + (5.25)

                                                = 9.25 kg     or 9 and 1/4 kg

Thus, there are 9 and 1/4 kgs of cashews nuts in the box.
