The main goal of all black influencers during the New Negro movement was to improve the social status of African Americans in white society and empower blacks to proud of their heritage. The contributions of African American artists to American culture was enormous during the Harlem Renaissance. Black Americans were able to express themselves and counteract the white supremacist’s propaganda through music, theater, newspapers, etc. Black social scientists used the law and facts to disprove the inferiority rhetoric used by white supremacists.
