Abigail Adams wrote a letter to her husband John Adams , in which she asked to " remember the ladies" in the new code of laws. She wrote ' I desire you would remember the ladies, and ne more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors. Don't putsput unlimited power into the hands of husband's. Remember all men would be tyrants if they could.' she was one of the first advocates of women education.

She urged him and other members of the congressman to keep the interstt of women in mind as they help in American independence from.grest Britain.

John Adams laugh at her letter. What he did not realise that his wife had become the first in the longtime of Americans women to assert her desire for women's right. Abigail declined his wife's proposed extraordinary code of laws.
