According to Malthus, human increase in a geometric proportional manner while human food increase in arithmetic slow proportionate manner. In this regard for survival there are two type of checks namely positive and negative checks which ultimately decrease the population to match the level of food and the negative check or preventive checks are the ones that don't make the man to be born such as no marriages or less children per marriage etc. Positive checks are the ones which make the man to die after birth such as war or diseases
