T/F/U. Richer people and countries have fewe r kids. If true, what kind of “ goods ” are kids and what does this imply about v arious behaviors rich parent s and countries exhibit. If false, what other factors drive “ number of children ” and why is the above statement too generalized
It is a true statement.
Kids in these countries are scarce and luxury goods in the rich countries as individuals are more focussed about future planning, self-attention and only afford few kids with huge attention upon the development of kids, their education, skills training as well as secure and better life offered to these kids. It makes them to produce less number of kids. Besides, the rich countries exhibit the capitalist behavior where specialized and highly skilled human resource is required. It does not create a sense of urgency to produce more kids and build a large pool of young labor force. Further, the rich people are more self-attentive, and has less time to spend upon the kids. It makes them to have fewer kids so that they get adequate attention what they deserve.
