Consumer's perception of a particular brand is known as market positioning. It is a psychological phenomena that what a consumer thinks about the products of in brand in comparison with the other brands.

Market positioning is a strategical process of establishing a brand's image in a certain way so that consumers will have that particular kind of psychology for that brand.

Example- colgate is advertised to be protective.

Mountain dew is advertised to considered to be a product capable of inducing heroism in one.
