Ans . a) The one child policy was introduced by China in 1979. This policy was intended to curb the growing population. According to estimate It prevented between 200 to 400 million births in the country. By 2013, China began to ease it's one child policy and discontinued in 2015, and enforced through a mix of incentives and sanctions.

b) impact of one child policy on social health system-

The one child policy had reduced the fertility rate considerably , it skewed China's gender ratio because people preferred to abort or abandon their female babies , and resulted in a labour shortage due to more seniors who rely on their children to take care of them. It curved the population growth.
