Answer #1

The imposition of direct rule by the central government in a state and the suspension of state government is known as presidential rule-making or president's rule. This happens when the state government is unable to function in accordance with the provisions of the constitution. In this rule, the administration is carried out by retired civil servants. President's rule has multiple criticisms because the state government has no role to play in governance and administration. All the powers lie in the hands of the central government.
