Answer #1

Attribution theory provides an explanation on how we judge people differently, based on the meaning we assign to a given behaviour. The theory is a three stage process - person behaviour is distinctive and observed, determined to be consensus, and attributed to internal or external causes. The main factors that influence attribution theory are the efforts, ability, task difficulty, and fortune as the most vital factors that impacts the attributions for it's achievement. Attributions are classified mainly along three causal dimensions - locus of stability, control, and controllability. The dimension of stability captures whether causes change or remains constant over time or not. The dimension of control locus has two poles i.e. internal and external locus of control. The controllability dimension causes one can control, such as efficacy/skill, from causes one cannot control, such as luck, mood, aptitude, and others’ actions

Perception is the process by which individuals attend to, organize, interpret, and retain information from their environments. People experience stimuli through their own perceptual filters—the personality-, psychology-, or experience-based differences that influence them to ignore or pay attention to particular stimuli. Because of filtering, people exposed to the same information will often disagree about what they saw or heard. According to attribution theory, we use two general reasons or attributions to explain people’s behavior: an internal attribution, in which behavior...
