ASEAN tends to benefit from the US-China trade war due to its geographical location, global networks of distribution, attractive policies, strong supply chains, a sizable workforce with cheap costs of labour, improving infrastructure and amicable links with both superpowers is making the region an industrialisation hub. Chinese-based companies are extending its industries to ASEAN for the avoidance of the tariffs imposed by America on Chinese-products and also to easily access parts required from the nation. The Chinese government promoted ASEAN as a trade partner to China through the development of the Belt and Road infrastructure projects in the region.
