Should Manufacturers Eliminate Proprietary Connectors? Discuss if customers pressure manufacturers to use a universal connector standard?

Manufacturers should not eliminate proprietary connectors as this will create monopoly of certain players in universal connector segment.

Since proprietary connectors give customised design and resuced risk of failure and cost effectiveness it is always in demand for enterprises.

Customers often forcefully demand manufacturers to produce universal connectors which are compliant and compatible with majority of devices and readily available. However some do show deviation and incompatibility with certain set of devices and also have limits on throughputs which results manufacturers to produce proprietary connectors .
