Differences between US legal system and Japanese legal system-

Legal system are of two main types- common law and civil law. Japan is primarily a civil law country and U.S is primarily a common law country. But still, codified law can be found at all jurisdictions levels in the USA, while in Japan case law can be found in all form of judicial opinions.

Another important difference is that U.S legal system is mostly inherited from the English legal tradition, while Japan's is a mixture of several foreign civil code that includes German's, French and America's Constitution and laws.
