Answer #1

I think patrol is the most important function of the police force. Firstly, patrolling acts as a deterrent for antisocial elements who look for opportunities to commit a crime for their benefits. Therefore, patrolling itself reduces a significant amount of crime. Secondly, patrolling helps police keep vigilance on the happenings and developments in a locality and instills a sense of security among the citizens. Thirdly, patrolling itself helps in other functions such as investigation, traffic or drug enforcement.
