if you were a black person either a slave or free would you have welcomed the secession of the southern states? How might secession affect the future of your people?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

No.

This is because it was the sole purpose of southern states to preserve and continue with slavery for which they decided to secede.

Under this, southern countries like south Carolina decided to secede so as to preserve their right to slavery and continue with it. This is an inhuman act and any person, whether black or white should revolt against it and not support, as it would mean supporting slavery.

Such a decision to stand against secession would have a great positive impact on the future of people, both blacks and non-blacks as it is something which stands for humanity and one should always support it so as to minimize racial discrimination.
