Land use planning and transport planning should be integrated because both are required for sustainable development.

A highly transport concentrated planning would improve mobility but would affect land use patterns. People would like to buy houses or properties where transport system is good. This makes other undeveloped parts of the land's value lower. As a result land with transport system will get congested which would interfere with transportation.

On the other hand greater the land use pattern greater is the demand for transport. If the land use is high the need for good transport is felt.

Thus the two concepts go hand in hand together which means their planning should be integrated as well for effective and sustainable planning development.
