What is your comments about this paragraph. (150 words)

I don't think that a form of military for enforcement would aid the effectiveness of the United Nations because of several reasons. The most important of which is that the United Nations is meant as a platform for states to discuss any problems that they would have with other states or problems that need to be addressed. Another reason would be to promote and create friendly relations with other states. Through giving the United Nations a military, it would go against the very reason that it was founded. Also, I would find it difficult to create a powerful military of people from states across the globe and have them gear up to attack a state that some of them are from.

The United Nations was formed with the purpose of providing international security and promoting peace among member nations. It protected human rights, the rights of children and seeks to promoted higher standard of living. It promoted the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) in 2000 to eradicate proverty. The organization works through peaceful means and military might is not an option. However, in extreme circumstances, the military might of the UN could be used, if peaceful negotiations was not possible
