Use the internet to find current GDP data for the U.S. Then respond to the following questions: What is the current annual GDP? What is the current GDP per capita? Is the GDP trending higher or lower, and is this trend good for the U.S.? Explain.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Current annual GDP of USA (2020) : $20140 billion

Current GDP per capita USA (2019) : $52,725

The GDP is trending lower because of the COVID-19 crisis the country is facing.

The 2020 GDP numbers have shown a dip as compared to previous years, which gives out a poor picture of the economy.

The trend is bad for the economy, as GDP numbers combined with high unemployment numbers in 2020 show that the country is heading towards another recession.
