Backward flow of supply chain management is also called as reverse supply chain. It can be defined as all those operations or set of operations relating to reuse of materials and products. Its the planning, implementing and using the cost effective flow of raw materials, stock and finished goods and related to the information from the point of origin to the consumers for the purposing of conforming to the customer requirements.

Process

1. Acquistion of product from the customers.

2. Process of getting back the products from the customers either for restructuring or disposal

3. Inspection and disposition

4. Reconditioning and redesigning

5. Distribution and sales

Printing industry, automobiles industry, compuer industry are the various examples of reverse supply chain.
