The region has impressive strides in struggle against poverty and income inequality. The latin america and carribean regions have achieved good growth in economic and social areas overbthe last decade. It shiffited gradually to middle income status.

Between 1970 and 1988 Latin America used to experience exonomic crisis every two years. Indeed Latin America is most economically volatile regions of the world. Regional indicators such as gdp growth and exchange rates and fiscal deficits ate roughly are two to three times more volatile than those of industrialised countries.
