Is the UN Security Council still a viable instrument for maintaining world peace?

The main function of UNSC is to maintain international peace and work toward to maintain harmony.

This is done by addressing disputes which may create international friction and solving them efficiently sometimes it is consummated by taking necessary action against aggressors which may object the policies and role of UNSC.

Looking at the other major functional part of UNSC it is obvious to note that UNSC is still as effective as it was a since it's inception in 1945.

Recent issue of North Korrea possible execution of Nuclear arms and possibility of imminent war i guess UNSC is quite successful un dealing with this issue as far as current scenario of dialogue between US and North Korrea is concerned.

Hence by dong some necessary and apt changes in UNSC policies we can make stand with UNSC robust in comjmg decades of Peace and harmony
