We can also say that reliabilty and validity are completely independent to each other.One measurement may be reliable and may not be valid while one measurement may be valid but not relaible.

If you do an experiment and get some result and the same experiment is done again and again and we get the same result then we say that the data we have taken for this experiment are reliable.Or we can say that we have consistent data.

Valid refers to whether the outcome that we are getting is guinene or not. If the data is valid then only we can say that they are reliable.Reliability is necessary condition but not a sufficient condition for validity.
