This week, we spent some time discussing corporate responsibility and how corporations are encouraged to keep the environment safe. Recently, there has been a trend of businesses “going green”. Do you think this is a good trend for other corporations to follow? Why or why not?

Yes. This is a good trend for the other corporations to follow provided they do so after a thorough analysis of not just financial, but even the environmental costs of switching to green production.

Many renewable energy sources are turning out to be less greener than originally thought because while the operations of these sources is greener, the initial production and disposal creates much more pollution than the benefits derived over lifetime.

However, if environmental cost benefit-analysis is positive, than corporations should go green even if financial costs are a little more in short term.
