Museums and firms do not have the same objective. The purpose of a museum is to promote social good, it is for a social purpose. The objective of a firm is profit-maximization. Profit motive is the purpose of a firm. Museums are non profit organizations, and firms are for profit organizations.

Museum is for promotion of art, culture, heritage, history. It preserves art for the future generation. Museum is a knowledge sharing pool. It strives discover and share knowledge. It educates and promotes research.
