why is it too cheap to drive cars in this country? what problems does it lead to? the country is USA. DISCUSS IN ONE PARAGRAPH OR MORE FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMIC BOOK . IN MOBILE SOURCE POLLUTION( pollution, congestion, sprawl - laud-use)
In US fuels has been cheap for many years . The price of Gas has been plunging down for over a decade . The taxes on Gas is artificially kept low to keep price low . Hence it is too cheap to drive cars in USA .
Since fuels are cheap people can afford cars for personal usage . This leads to reduction of demand for public transport . More the number of cars on roads more is the volume of pollution generated , more is the congestion created . More roads requires to be created which leads to more deforestation and loss of agricultural land .
