First question is answered

1.

Government policied on passports and visas have a direct impact on tourism. This is because more strict the visa policies and procedures, fewer people will take the pains to undergo such a cumbersome process of obtaining a visa and thus fewer people will travel to the country as a tourist. For e g obtaining a US visa is more difficult than obtaining a visa for South East Asian countries like Thailand and Indonesia. This makes tourists more attracted to the latter than going to US for tourism.

These policies are however sometimes important for certain countries to prevent fear of terrorists entering the country.
