It is often said that economic inequality is one of the besetting problems of capitalism. There is disproportionate share of income going to richest, the concentration of wealth among a few families, and the great income and assets of some large corporations.

  1. The distribution of income is grossly unequal and is becoming more unequal with time.
  2. The middle class is declining in economic importance.
  3. There is too little opportunity for a family to move from one income group to a higher on.
  4. The working class rarely has enough income to maintain itself in health and efficiency.
  5. The ownership of capital is grossly unequal.
  6. Free enterprise is being supplanted by monopoly, and monopoly is exploiting both consumers and workers.
