o you think that the United States has a Trade Surplus or a Trade Deficit with China? Why? Be sure to explain your reasoning
A trade is considered to be in deficit when the volume of goods a nation imports exceed the volume of its exports. The US enjoyed trade surplus till 1980s and after that it has been running a trade deficit especially with China that grew to $347 billion in 2016 and is currently much higher. In that year exports to China valued at $116 billion while imports were worth $463 billion. The major components (as well as reason) for such imports include the electroning goods and components being imported by domestic (US) manufacturers who seek to produce them at a lower cost (by outsourcing). Hence, United States has a Trade Deficit with China
