Explain how the US federal statutes protect individual's rights (e.g. privacy and self-determination).
Initially during the process of ratification, the legislatures expressed a lot of concern over the protection of human rights and this indeed got to the passing of 12 amendments in the first Congress where 10 of them are ratified by the states and these are collectively called as the Bill of Rights. The provisions for protection of individual rights include Article I section 9, the writ of Habeas Corpus, Article I, section 9 and 10, Article I, section 9 and 10 prohibit ex facto laws, article IV Section 2 previlige of immunities clause etc.
