Homework Answers

Answer #1

The three main roles of the French government in the economy are as follows:

1. What to produce - The French government decides what to produce for the economy as a whole.

2. For whom to produce - It also decides the distribution of goods and services in the economy.

3. How to produce - The method of production of goods and services is also decided by the government.

In the United States, the main emphasis is on increasing government expenditure and reducing taxes as a part of fiscal stimulus program of the government. On the other hand, French government stresses on investment in infrastructure in the economy. Also, savings rate in France is very high compared to the savings rate in the United States. Jobs cut is a regular phenomenon in France while in the United States government emphasizes on Job creation.
