Explain the organization of drug courts and their stated purpose. Do you believe this is effective? Why or why not? Explain your answers.

National Association of Drug Court Professional is the organization of drug courts. It is a non profit organization which was establish in 1994 for the welfare of drug addicted people. Their purpose is to reduce use of drugs amongst drug addicts and crimes casued by them. They do so by keeping drug addicted offenders in drug courts instead of jail. They believe when one person rises out of addiction they all rise.

Drugs Courts are significantly reducing substance use and crime. They reduce crimes as much as 45 percent more than other sentencing options. They not only makes lives better, reduces crimes but they also save money. Money spent on door arrests, trials and other prison costs is saved. Drug Courts are truly breaking the cycle of drugs.I believe they are effective.
