Haitians fought for US independence. In 1779, the British have captured Savannah which was the important financial resources, which later became United States. At that time, there was a need of help on the port of Savannah by Major General Benjamin Lincoln. The French then came to aid for the United States of America’s future. The support was from the French Saint who was Haiti’s predecessor. The battle was an important part in US fight for its independence and was also one of the bloodiest battles.
