It was the fall of 2008 - the thick of the financial crisis - and Senator Chuck Schumer voted yes for the 2008 bailout. With passing of a new version of the unpopular measure that targeted to boost confidence in banks to avert an economic meltdown resurrected the $700 billion Wall Street rescue plan. Senator Chuck Schumer wanted to send a positive signal by protecting the U.S. economy by making sure that Americans have access to the enough credit that is required to create employment and keep businesses going. The bailout loaded the rescue plan with tax breaks and other sweeteners
