Similarities of the Neocolonial dependence model and the dualistic development thesis is that both believes in the divergence of the rich and poor nations, just like individuals, whereby rich are getting wealthier at the expense of the poor.

The neo-colonial dependence model takes into account the historical factors that led to underdevelopment whereas the Dualistic development considers the concept of dualism in day to day life which sets the superior or the rich being from the inferior.
