1. What are two outstanding trade challenges facing the world today and how would you solve them?

2. What policy should a country like the United States pursue in the face of increased competition from manufactured exports of emerging economies?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans

No 1 is Donald trumphs protectionist policy. I will solve it by organizing all other countries to not react with protectionist policy but rather coordinate policies so that world moves towards free trade

Second problem is regarding agricultural and manufactured goods. Developing countries want greater access of its agricultural products in developed countries while as developed countries want greater access to markets of developing countries regarding their manufactured goods.I will try to fix some maximum amount of tariffs in these countries regarding these two goods so that there is greater trade and at the same time apprehensions of these countries are taken care of. This will be applicable upto only some time period. Ultimately all restrictions will be removed.

2 usa needs to invest more in Rand D, innovation and knowledge. Only then can it maintain competitive edge
