Answer #1

The United States emerged as one of the two powerful superpowers after World War II, turning away from its conventional isolationism and towards greater foreign participation. The United States has become a global force in matters of economic , political, military, cultural, and technology. The U.S. economy's unprecedented growth translated into prosperity, which resulted in the lifting of millions of office and factory workers into a growing middle class that moved to the suburbs and embraced consumer goods.

In the post-war years, the role of women in U.S. society became a topic of particular interest, with marriage and feminine domesticity represented as the primary goal for the American woman. The baby boom of the postwar period embraced the role of women as caretakers and homemakers. The prosperity of post-World War II didn't extend to all. Many Americans, especially the older people and African Americans, continued to live in poverty throughout the 1950s.
Discrimination on voting rights remained common in the south into the 1950s. Although both parties vowed to make progress in 1948, military integration was the only significant change before 1954
