While the U.S. economy continues to grow at an annual pace of about 2-3 percent, the growth in developing countries is nearly double that number, and U.S. business investment increasingly reflects that trend. In fact, international commerce today accounts for over a quarter of the American economy and a third of U.S. economic growth.

In a recent report – The Global Skills Gap: Preparing Young People for the Global Economy – revealed that when companies recruit new employees they seek out those candidates with global knowledge and awareness and rate this as more important than a candidate's degree major or grades.

Also to enhance global skills and competencies the best way is to read books , journals , newspapers and remaining updated about global events regularly . The course can be used by forming ties with people globally and sharing their knowledge , also one must foster a global outlook to reduce this skill gap .
