French war lasted between 1754 to 1763.from 1764 british started to ompose different taxes on the colonists.these taxes were imosed due to sugar act,quartering act,currency act,stamp act etc.the colonists were not happy with the new taxes and their motto became `no taxation without representation'.in 1765 protest started to take place in boston and some colonists were killed,it was known as boston massacre.

In 1773,tea tax was introduced.protest was made against this tax by boarding tea ships and dumping tea into water.this protest came to be known as boston tea party.

Intolerable acts was introduced against the colonies which united them more.because of all these factors fighting broke out between the colonists and british empire in 1775.
