The two schools of conflict are-Traditional and modern.
The traditional view was developed between 1930-1940.This theory argues that any conflict in an organisation is bad and negative.It believes that conflicts are only dysfunctional and therefore,organisational conflict must be avoided by identifying the causes of malfunction.This view also identifies poor communication, disagreement,and lack of trust as the source of conflict.
The modern view argues that some level of conflict is necessary in an organisation so that it does not become static, non-responsive, inflexible,and unadaptable.A minimum level of conflict maintains creativity,self evaluation and competition among the individuals.
