I disagree with the view that the monopolist never takes a loss .Yes it is rare to find a monopolist in loss .But it happen .We find a monopolist takes loss when his averga cost curve is above the average revenue curve that simply means the cost of the monopolist can't be covered by the revenue .Here Tc>TR .Thats why monopolist incur losses in the market .And this loss will happen only in shortrun .But in long-run the monopolist never incur losses.The monopolist only gets super normalprofit in long-run due to blocked entry and lack of availability of substitute goods.
