Write a detail note on the duties and liabilities that are imposed on the professional engineers, by the “Code of Professional Ethics”, as approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council, to maintain, uphold and advance the honor and dignity of the engineering professional in Pakistan.

The code of ethics link is given at the end of the answer. The main duties and liabilities of engineers, according to this code, are-

• Judge people with justice.
• Do not defraud people and do no corruption and mischief.
• Treat all people as equal and not let hatred affect this equanimity.
• Fulfill all the obligations, as are incumbent upon an engineer.
• Do not take ownership of any property by fraudulent means.
• Speak straight words- meaning be clear and forthright in speaking.
• Avoid suspicion and doubt.
• Do not do anything of which you have no knowledge of.
• Help those in need and do not help anyone in wrong deeds.
• Issues should be decided between the engineering fraternity.
