1) It is process of defining, gathering, analyzing, and distributing information of competitors, customers, products, and changes in the industry or environment to enhance companies customer services.

But one thing which surprises me a lot why there is need to establish a new process if you already have your distributors which let you know your customers demand and satisfactions and if the competitors are good they reveal any of their details prior launching their new services.
