1.) Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the two primary sources of information on the amount of crime in the U.S., the FBI's UCR data and the Department of Justice's NCVS.

Crime statistics are published by using ucr data of FBI in the crime and released annually.

This data is not collected by fbi itself but get this data from different law enforcement agencies of USA.

From 1929 to now it(ucr data) has became a reliable source of data for policy makers , media ,law making and enforcement.

NCVS has wider base of crime statistics in USA than FBI ucr data on crime. Ucr data not reflect later adjudication , but only crime report by police .

NCVS (national crime victimization survey is conducted by us census bureau biennially. This has wider base of statistics of crime data than others. This conduct survey on crimes like assault, burglary, , motor vehicle theft, rape, and robbery etc. It results bare usefull in preparing the crime index. NCVS data is useful to compare with other data of ucr, nibrs and provide vthem standard to make reliable survey.

This survey is better because it also collected data from household compare to ucr ,which was reliable on other lew Enforcement agencies data. During survey it uses question , supplement question to make sure authenticity of data ,but not in ucr data because it not collected data on its own. It uses attitudional approach of people in consideration as future statisticsstatistics

But due to it's methodology it's not good for domestic violence statistics technically.
