There is always a corporate pursuit of profit.

There is also labor-saving technological change that creates scope for profit-enhancing innovations resulting in higher profits.

There are basic needs of the citizens. Those needs are fulfilled by production and production is carried out by capitalists and the supply & sale creates avenues for capitalist to make profits from sale.
