1 The industrial revolution started in USA in 1790 . Taxtile and Iron and Steel Industries were the two main industries set up at that time in America .
2 Major crops grown by slaves as plantation agriculture were tobacco indigo and rice . Tobacco was grown in Virginia and Maryland , rice and indigo were grown in South Carolina . Apart from this majority of farms were subsistence farms .
3 Major export crops grown in south of US were cotton in the Mississippi Valley and in Alabama on the other hand Sugercane in Louisiana . In New England export crops such as tobacco and cranberries were grown .
4 In the middle of 19th century , more than half of population of Ireland and Germany emigrated to US because of civil unrest , severe unemployment and inconceivable hardships faced by people at home like famines .
