You've just cemented a deal between a $100 million pension fund and Green Company, a large regional money manager. You and your staff put in long hours and a lot of effort to close the deal and are feeling very good about it. You and three of your direct reports are having lunch in a fancy restaurant to celebrate a promotion, when the waiter brings you a phone. A senior account executive from Green is on the phone and wants to buy you lunch in gratitude for all your efforts. "I'll leave my credit card number with the restaurant owner, he says. "You and your team have a great time on me." What are the ethical issues, if any. Make sure to clearly define the ethical issue and explain alternative courses of action that are available and which one you would choose in priority to the other available options.
Answer : Ethical issue may arise on above case is of bribery and corruption as manager is happy with deal and is providing credit card to restaurant in order to unofficial reward in kind. If he provides official some bonus from company then it would be ethical. It is best preferred by saying manager that thanks a lot sir . When you will be coming then we will have lunch or dinner. Then it won't count in ethical issues. Hence it is preferably chosen not to accept that offer as it comes under ethical issue . It would be chosen so as to discourage undue reward.
