We know that a prediction is a forecast about an event or happening, which has not occured yet. The prediction is not only about rainfall, temperature but we can predict the future prices, demand and supply as well. Future trends in business cycle are also forecasted well in advance. Prediction is derived from two words, Pre means “before” and diction has to do with talking. So a prediction is a statement about the future. It's a guess, sometimes based on facts or evidence, but not always.

A person needs more information or concrete information to predict about the future trends. In order to make predictions, the use of information technology is needed. The business analysists are predicting well in advance what are going to be the businesss trends in future.
