The French government divided the estates into three namely the
first, second and the third estates.
While the first estate consisted of clergy of either nobles or
commoners. the second estate consisted of nobles holding majority
of positions in courts, government and churches.
The third Estate consisted of remaining french population and
was divided into three groups the Bourgeoisie, the sans, culottes
and the peasants.
The group Bourgeoisie were the middle class of France
consisting of doctors, lawyers, merchants, bankers etc.
